One of my business colleagues in the BNI gave me the task of creating an animated logo for her company's (Pace Distribution) social media page.
I pondered with a cartoon 2D animation to keep with the simplistic style of the logo and decided that an animation showing the work ethic of the company and their tagline of "Promoting with Pace" works well.
The first step was to re-create the "P" symbol - based on the business logo. I use a combination of Illustrator and After Effects to create a nice vector of the logo.
Then - using a combination of the "Vegas" effect on After Effects - I generated the wheel animation.
The smoke effect was quite tricky, I used auto-trace, and a bunch of path and mask tweaks to ensured that it looked like a cartoon.
